A native of Germany, I received my formal art training in Germany majoring in “Illustration and Graphic Design”.
Marriage brought me to New York where I quickly found a job in fashion illustration while continuing my studies at the top art schools of N.Y.. Later on I enjoyed being a textile designer, then working in Picture-Framing Design and being a Gallery Director, while always taking classes in different art mediums. Moving to S. Florida opened my eyes to Collage/Mixed Media which I thoroughly enjoyed. Instead of many years of mostly Commercial work I now painted for myself.
I was accepted into the well known Boca Raton Artist’s Guild, a vibrant, active arts-community. For many years I continuously exhibiting in many local, national and international juried shows winning numerous awards. Many of my paintings found a home with local, national and international clients. My work was exhibited at the Lurie Gallery, the Nathan D. Rosen Gallery, the Armory Art Center in W. Palm Beach and several times in the Boca Raton Museum. The other venues were in Arizona, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, New Zealand, Mexico and France.
Before my husband and I decided to move to the Carolinas, I was awarded a solo show of over 30 of my Mixed Media paintings in the beautiful Coral Springs Art-Museum, a true highlight in my creative pursuits in Florida.
Now my husband and I make our home in the beautiful Carolinas near Charlotte, NC. I decided to seriously take up Photography, a new challenge for me to immerse myself in. The natural world and my homage to it has been the recurrent theme in my Collage/Mixed Media works and it continues in my Photography.
Taking photos is about memories, a sense of place, holding and documenting a moment in time before it’s gone - sharing my love of nature and the world around in my own personal way, celebrating all its gifts, large and small.
