Susan C. Moore Art
Impressions and Abstractions
Susan was born and raised in Charlotte. When she was about 12, she spent a weekend with an older neighbor, an artist, who bought her a set of paints and taught her how to paint flowers on a bucket. Susan was hooked, and for the next few years painted on paper, wood, canvas - even rocks.
With the exception of a semester art class in high school and a very boring "Art 101" in college, she is mostly self taught. She has worked with Andy Braitman, Jeremy Sams, Dottie Leatherwood and others over the years to hone her skills. She paints landscapes, many en plain air, urban scenes, botanicals and abstracts using acrylic, oil, oil and cold wax, as well as mixed media.
Susan is a member of the Guild of Charlotte Artists, having served on the Board as the Show and Exhibits Chair for the past 3 years. During that time, she has organized and overseen over 15 shows and exhibits including new venues such as the Mint Museum Uptown and Myers Park United Methodist Church Hope Gallery. She is a displaying artist in Presson Gallery in Downtown Monroe, NC.
